Schwäbisch Hall liegt im Kochertal an der Deutschen Ferienstraße und der Burgenstraße. Die sehenswerte Stadt ist Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in das Schlösser- und Burgenland Hohenlohe und den Naturpark Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald. Auf der großen Freitreppe des eindrucksvollen Münsters St. Michael finden alljährlich die bekannten Freilichtspiele statt.

Die Jugendherberge liegt auf dem Galgenberg, rund 5 Gehminuten vom Stadtkern (Michaelskirche) entfernt.

Arriving by public transport

Go to Schwäbisch Hall station. The hostel is about a 20-minute walk from there. From Schwäbisch Hall-Hessental station, there's a bus service (line 1) that will take you into town; the "Bausparkasse" ("building society") stop is about 800 m away from the hostel.

Rail service for DJH members
The Community Travel GmbH offers DJH members discounted RIT tickets for a return journey within Germany - this applies only in conjunction with stays in a hostel. School classes and groups can make use of this offer. You must carry confirmation of your booking with you when travelling.

Arriving by car/bus
B14 Stuttgart-Nuremberg, via the B19 Ulm-Würzburg or the A6 Heilbronn-Nuremberg and take the Kupferzell exit. In Schwäbisch Hall always keep driving towards the Bausparkasse (building society) Schwäbisch Hall, then follow signs to the JH (Jugendherberge = Youth Hostel).
